This week in AP literature, we didn't really do a ton. I missed class on Monday to attend the senior meeting. I missed class on Tuesday attending the MSU presentation. And yesterday, I slept strait through my alarm. Today and Wednesday are the only full days that I have had of this class. We did do some things, but not as much as other weeks.
Being the start of a new six weeks, we started a new novel. Or, at least most people did. I am still in the midst of selecting a book to read for this next marking period. I think that it is better to take your time and find a good book that really interests you, than to rush into the first book that lands in your hands. I realized this last six weeks when I picked a book that had over 500 pages. I am considering the book "Blood Meridian" because it seems like a fast paced action book. Hopefully it turns out to be interesting because nothing is worse than reading an awful book that doesn't interest you at all. It is totally pointless, and knowing that you have to write an essay on it just makes it miserable..
Soon we will start our "What is Tragedy?" project. I am not exited for this because I do not like projects. And even when we do have projects, I like having someone one to rely on and go through it with me. This project is individual so it seems a bit more daunting.
The poem we read was titles "Pathedy of Manners". I don't really like this poem because I feel that it has 0 room for interpretation. It's one of those poems that you read through and there is no question pertaining to what it means or represents. It just seems boring not being able to share your own personal intake.
