This has been a prominent week so far this trimester. Starting Monday, we began working on our "This I Believe" Project. It is going to be a very interesting project, more so than the other projects we have done that have focused more on actual literature. I am absolutely indifferent about this project. I am not very comfortable sharing about myself, so I am not really looking forward to that.. however the project should be easy.
The focus of my project is "I believe that every person has the right to be happy", which is true. I feel like many people just don't realize this and this leads them to be dissatisfied with their life. I feel that this is a major problem in the world, perhaps one of the biggest. There is just too many unhappy people. Every single one of us deserves to be happy. By focusing on the things that are important to us, and not on the things that we have been told are important to us, all of us can be happy. Everybody gets worked up about every little thing, and they let these peculiar abstractions ruin their happiness. Some of these quotes are useful when writing my essay.
The PoW for this week was actually 2 poems, both of which about child abuse. I think that the essay this week will be difficult because both of the poems seem to be strait forward, with not much wiggle room for interpretation. It is difficult for me to wright essays about poems when I can't talk about what the poem means or whatever. the hardest part of PoW essays for me personally is when the prompt asks for things like, "What specific literary devices aid in the meaning of.." or something similar. I have a long way to go at the prompts that ask for this.
