We also spent a significant amount of time discussing the poem of the week, "Cross". I thought that this was a difficult poem to analyze. It wasn't one of those poems like from last week where the poem is about something, but really it represents something or many different things entirely. This poem was literally about what the poem was about. It was almost like commercial fiction in the fact that it didn't really mean anything, or to me at least. Not that I really agree with the whole, commercial vs. literature argument, but i feel that I could argue that this poem is commercial literature because it is shallow.
Nest week will be focused on the what is literature project. It will be good to get rolling and try to get it done.
