Upon discussion and further digestion, we started to uncover a much different interpretation about the poem than originally anticipated. With the literal meaning being an eagle on a mountain cliff, gazing at the rest of the world; we depicted the poem to represent a riotous or noble figure. He watched the turmoil and chaos of the world below him. I have never been a fan of poems. I like things that are strait forward. I don't like sitting down and trying to figure out a deeper meaning to a poem. Hopefully throughout the class I will begin to enjoy them more and be able to decipher them quicker for the AP test.
On Tuesday and Thursday, we did creative writing. This is something that I have never been excellent at, but upon using the sentence starter, "The man in black fled across the desert and the Gunslinger followed.", I got an interesting story started. The story is about a myself being chased by 2 identical twins who are really scary and trying the catch me. I somewhat had a mental picture of the bald guys from Breaking Bad. I found the subject easy to write out, and so I continued it on Thursday.
